Technicalities - turning ideas into award winning quilts
This class will focus on the little details that turn a good idea into a show quilt. Renae will discuss tricks and tools that you can make or find to achieve the quality quilting we all desire. This class will not focus on creativity and design but on the logistics of applying the quilting designs. We will discuss common pitfalls and ways to avoid them. Renae will discuss the process of show quilting, beginning with marking the top and ending with blocking and shipping the finished quilt. Learn a few simple tricks she used for her latest award winning quilts. This is a very visual class with many photos of pitfalls and solutions, presented in a PowerPoint presentation.
Mastering Medallion Quilting - using circles and radiating line in quilts
In this class Renae will teach you how to sew circles around your quilts. Renae teaches how to draft and quilt the LARGE circles used in her latest award winning quilts, 'His Light Reflected' and 'Ring Around the Rosie'. Do your radiating lines wobble? Renae has some solutions to help keep you on the 'straight and narrow'. Renae's Amazing Rays ruler will be demonstrated along with alternate methods of working with radiating lines and circles. How can such simple shapes as circles and line be used in such diverse ways? Renae will show you many of her tricks. These applications are excellent for wholecloth 'show' quilts but can be simplified and mastered to help you thrill your custom/heirloom customer as well.
